Why Is ChatGPT Trending Everywhere? Here’s Why It’s So Powerful

ChatGPT is one of the most trending topics right now. It's been just a few months since its release and people's minds are being blown with what it can do. It's also breaking records with over 1 million users that signed up within the first week, having a faster starting growth than Netflix, Twitter, Facebook and even Instagram.

No longer will you be Googling answers to your problems, ChatGPT will break them down in fine detail with great explanations, telling you exactly how everything works. This will make people question just how relevant Google will be in the coming future.

Do you want to find spot-on answers to complex questions? ChatGPT has you covered.

But… What Exactly Is ChatGPT?

First of all, it's built by the same people behind OpenAI, who are now shaping some other really interesting technologies. They've been building powerful engines, for example, remember Dall-E 2? The famous AI image generator that was trending in late 2022, that creates any type of visualization you can ask it to, like a spaceman riding a horse, and it will be delivered in a few seconds.

Well, that same company created ChatGPT, which is a way of prompting AI to solve or answer any question in a very human-like manner. It’s a very outstanding technology that looks different from anything else we've seen before.

This can sound scary for some people, especially to organizations like StackOverflow which pride themselves on solving problems with human related answers. Actually, they've recently gone as far as banning ChatGPT out from their systems, because they want to maintain the level of trust they’ve built over the years, but it's still undeniable that ChatGPT gives amazing answers that people can just simply copy & paste.

In case you didn't know, ChatGPT is entirely free. If you want to try it out yourself simply go to OpenAI, log in with a brand new account and then select the ChatGPT interface. The design is very nice and simple. It’s a rather friendly platform.

What Can You Do With ChatGPT?

This tool has quite powerful capabilities, like remembering what a user said in a conversation and providing follow-up corrections. Also, it can show you how things work. For example, if you haven’t ever used JavaScript or Python, you can ask ChatGPT to give you a “Hello World” function and it will not only write it for you to copy and paste it, but it’ll explain the whole thing to you.

This is really just the beginning, because we’re giving an ordinary example. Things can get very interesting with ChatGPT.

Imagine you’re developing a website or an app, but you keep getting an error that you can’t figure out. You can just copy and paste this error into ChatGPT to see what’s happening and you will very quickly receive back a full correction, spotting all mistakes made inside your code, telling you why it was wrong and how can you fix it.

Let’s put it like this... If someone is using this tool and doesn’t know it’s an AI system, they can easily think all these answers come from a real human. This is an example of us asking ChatGPT some common questions:

This definitely will make us question how things might look like in the future, because this really works like an extremely advanced personal assistant.

ChatGPT is gaining all this relevance because it's practical to pretty much anything and it can adapt to different types of workplaces.

Let’s boil it down to an everyday example. You’re on a diet and you want to cut carbs, because you’re trying to lose a little weight. You can ask ChatGPT to create a list of foods with these specifications and it will hit you back with a full plan of meals and even a shopping list. All the results given by ChatGPT are quick to get, fairly organized and easily readable.

We’re witnessing life-changing technology that’s here to stay. It will be revolutionary and also will become part of our day-to-day lives, similar to how Google has, but this is going to reach so many industries once we know how to take full advantage of it.
